Fishing for Salmon in B.C. with Gear
Salmon fishing in B.C is easiest with conventional fishing equipment and techniques. We drift fish, float fish, cast spoons or spinners and bar fish for salmon for most of the season. These methods are the easiest to learn and offer the most success for the experienced and novice angler. We ensure that you will get taught these techniques quickly and be able to capitalize on the bites you get quickly and in a way that is stress free and just plain fun. We want you to enjoy catching and not just fishing. Each type of salmon that enter our rivers has unique characteristics that enable it to be caught with specific methods.
We want you to experience to bite of a Chinook smashing a bar rod or plug, Coho or Pink chasing a spoon for twenty feet before grabbing it next to the boat. The anticipation of a drifted float and jig for chums or a piece of drifted prawn for sockeye. Each method of fishing we choose will be appropriate for the season and for our anglers skill level. We work with each of our clients to ensure that they receive the instruction they need to master each method.
All the equipment in my boat is custom built. I build all my rods and they are species specific. Each rod is built to enhance the experience and simplify the delivery to the fish. I use lamiglas and sage rods for most drift fishing techniques and a few G Loomis rods for plugs and bar fishing. I use shimano Calcutta bait casting reels and Penn Spinning reels. Our goal is to give you the best equipment possible that will perform flawlessly cast after cast.
